What is Reciprocity in Claims Adjusting? If you’re new to the world of insurance claims adjusting, the term reciprocity might sound complicated—but it’s actually a big benefit. Reciprocity means that once you earn your adjuster license in your home state (or Designated Home State, if your state doesn't license adjusters), you can apply for licenses in other states without having to retake exams or additional courses. As long as your original license covers the same type of claims (like Property & Casualty or All-Lines), you can expand your work opportunities across multiple states—making you more flexible, valuable, and ready for deployments wherever the need arises. Want to know if your state qualifies for reciprocity? Click the button below to learn more about your state’s licensing rules and opportunities.
